The Myrtle Beach Surf Camps are directed by Mark Allison. Mark is a 40 year + surfer / waterman. His passion for the sport started as a youngster surfing and fishing up and down the Southern California coast during the late 60's and 70's. His love for the sport and travel have taken him globally in the search of perfect surf and the spirit of Aloha.
Mark and his well-trained staff at Myrtle Beach Surf Camps has been showing people how to surf for over 20 years. Our goal is to give each camper an experience that will last a lifetime and quite possibly change their life. All instructors are American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified and trained in CPR.
In addition to water instruction, we provide extensive on-shore instruction during the time the students are out of the water. This includes the instruction of safety practices while in the water, how waves are created and how to anticipate the different kinds of breaking waves. Our goal is to have every student emerge confident and knowledgeable about the ocean and surfing. Our time during each camp will be spent building friendships and camaraderie through surfing together in a non-competitive environment.
The 2009 Surf Camps kick off the week of June 9 and run through the week of August 25. Sessions are held in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach Tuesday through Thursday of each week. Sessions start at 9 AM and last till noon. Times may change due to weather and tides. Our instructor ratio is 4 instructors to every 12 students. We will also have additional staff on the beach assisting from shore to make sure all are safe in the water.
