Welcoming New Staff at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County
Team’s Reach Expands at Local Nonprofit

For over 25 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been the leading mentoring organization in Santa Cruz County. The nonprofit’s reach has just expanded this Fall with the addition of two staff members, Mia Righetti and Hannah Mello, both Santa Cruz natives with hearts for contributing locally.

We welcome Mia Righetti as Administrative Assistant, coming to the team with a Mass Communications degree from UC Berkeley and volunteer work with children and adults of special needs, as well as dance and the arts for young people. Mia says, “I'm excited to be a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters because I know that being here I help to make a difference in this community.”

Hannah Mello also joins as Outreach Coordinator— having just relocated from New York City with experience in marketing, advertising, and the arts on both East and West Coasts. She remarks, “It’s a privilege to be a part of a nationally recognized nonprofit that has a focused goal of investing in what really matters in our community— the lives of young people who will be the leaders and shapers of tomorrow’s world.” Hannah has a passion for cultural awareness and appreciation as well, with a commitment to being a lifelong student and traveler.

“We are proud to welcome these women to the team that not only bring their local history and involvement, but the deep desire to make a difference in their community,” comments Executive Director Marie Cubillas.
