Sun and Surf - Champion Declared
England's Suzie Pierrepont overpowered compatriot Alexandra Norman in the final of the Women's Sun & Surf Open to win the $8,000 WISPA World Tour squash event at the Jericho Tennis Club in Vancouver, Canada.
Norman, a qualifier from Nottingham - but now based in Montreal - reached the final after three successive upsets over seeded opponents. But Pierrepont, the 23-year-old event favourite from Sussex, was too strong for her fellow country woman in the final, beating Norman 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 in 30 minutes to celebrate the third Tour title of her career.
Sun and Surf The Sun & Surf tournament is the opening event on the Canadian Squash Circuit for the 2008-09 season. The Canadian Squash Circuit is a national tour consisting of Men’s PSA and Women’s WISPA sanctioned events across Canada. Canadian players compete for points in the Canadian Squash Circuit standings, which culminate with a year-end Grande Finale between the highest point earners from the Men’s and Women’s Circuit.

Sun, Surf and Salsa are on the menu at the 2008 Cuba Libre edition of the Sun and Surf. An eagerly anticipated event on the regional squash calendar many amateur and professional players alike plan holidays and playing schedules to participate in what many consider THE summer squash tournament on the West Coast.
Whether you are there to play and/or party you are certain to enjoy the outstanding squash offered by some of the world's best female players as the Jericho Tennis Club once again hosts this Women's International Squash Professional Association world tour event.
