sandiegoGalen Hansen writes, "San Diego is a lovely picturesque city, if you have never been there. Old Town is where the first settlement in California occurred, rating as the most visited site. Point Loma has the beautiful Fort Rosecrans Military Cemetery, one of the most beautiful and moving, one will ever see. It also has the oldest lighthouse at its point. The view back at the city is spectacular. Downtown has been all refurbished and is a hotspot for young and old every night. There are just too many sites to describe if you have never been to San Diego."
Below are just two excerpts from the article that describe the show and seminar. As in other seminars for those who arrive Wednesday the next day, Thursday, offers a full schedule of tours and sightseeing events. The talks are categorized in "tracts" including koi, ponds, koi 101 (for beginners), hands-on activities, and other special forums for breeders, and for veternarians, and a web lab on Thursday.
The 22nd Annual Koi Show of the Koi Club of San Diego
For many years, the San Diego Koi Show has been one of the largest and one of the best shows in the country.
In order to hold a show and seminar at the same time, some changes are necessary, and new opportunities arise. You will even have the opportunity to buy koi from top dealers on Thursday night and all day Friday and enter them into the koi show. The Vendors participating in this will agree to ship the koi to your home afterwards.
Entrees are accepted from Wednesday afternoon (after 3 p.m.) until Friday (at 5 p.m.), so you can bring your koi with you, and they will be taken care of. There will be no Saturday entrees accepted. If you have special needs or with details, please contact our Show Chairperson, Kristine Peterson.
Wide Range of Interesting Talks
For most of the talks on Friday and Saturday, there will be three choices at any one time: a koi tract (mostly for issues relating to the koi themselves); a pond tract (for issues related more to ponds and water quality); an activities tract (sessions of hands on demonstrations/participations); and a Koi 101 tract (for beginners and featuring basic information). The pond tract will be promoted separately to the public and be on Saturday and Sunday mornings (the latter during the pond tour).
