* Probably the best surf coach job in the world…? Jun 11, 2009: COSTA RICA – Central Pacific Coast. Probably the best surf coach job in the world…? Year round Surf Coach position at Innocent Surf School The place: 7KM of tropical, consistent, fun beach break, set in the jungle. Short board-able 90% of the year. 30 minute drive, both North and South, for uncrowded hollow beachies and reefs. The deal: Annual salary which allows comfortable standard of living and savings plus 12 weeks a year paid vacation. A studio apartment, 5 minutes stroll from the beach with wi-fi and a/c. The Must-Have: We are looking for a “surf geek “. A coach who is not only confident in their own surfing ability & experience, but who also has a good understanding of all aspects of the sport. You must be articulate across many fronts; able to break down maneouvers, read weather charts, discuss board design, & demystify contest judging. To apply: We are breaking new ground with our unique teaching methodology, which focuses on breaking down technical skills using logic, as opposed to relying on intuition and style. We are looking for someone who would like to adopt this new approach and to fit into an already established close team. If you think you’d like to live in a tropical jungle paradise and further your professional coaching development, then send us a bit about yourself including your personal surfing and coaching experience. We need you to be BSA (or equivalent) qualified and over 21 years old.
* Wannasurf on Google Earth Mar 11, 2009: Wannasurf.com has just open its surf spot database to Google Earth tool. Install Google Earth V5 and launch it. You can zoom in and see the spots. To get more information on each surf spot, click the wave icon. A popup will show the best available picture, GPS information, and a link to the full description of the surf spot. Wannasurf.com database has 8 000 surf spots but for now, only half of them have a GPS location and are shown on the Google maps. You are welcome to help us adding GPS location to all spots! Enjoy and contribute! Wannasurf team

* Local Editors wanted Jul 09, 2008: As you may (or may not) know - this site is done by a couple of us, in our spare time. Which obviously means we don't have any spare time, and don't surf enough.:( You may also notice, that if you send in a new spot, update or whatever - it doesn't appear immediately, or sometimes never. We have a backlog of some 11000 surf spots submitted, but not moderated. Now many of these are doubles of existing spots, hoax spots, rubbish tec. - and need to be moderated. If you know a region(s) or country(s) well, and have some spare time to contribute - send "admin" a PM (if you want to be discrete) or reply to this message - we are going to set up a limited number of local-editor accounts.
* Trip maps & your GPS waypoints May 16, 2008: Hi folks, Wannasurf now offers two new great features: - Surf Trip maps: If you have logged surf sessions from surf spots that have GPS coordinates; your surf trip now displays a map with all your logged spots! - My Surf Spots GPS file: You can download from the "My Surfed Spots" page the GPS waypoints file of your own spots. This includes GPX/PCX5 formats for your GPS device and KML format for Google Earth. Enjoy and contribute! Wannasurf team
