Surf Beach 96

Queen’s Surf Beach is the place to be for Honolulu’s newest and most popular weekend event for residents and visitors, Sunset on the Beach, this Saturday and Sunday, from 4 – 9 p.m

Enjoy the Hawaiian sunset from world-famous Waikiki Beach. Relax with a cool beverage, pupus and live entertainment on the Hawaiian stage from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Whether you picnic on the beach or dine on the Kapahulu pier, choose from a wide menu selection – from hot dogs, hamburgers and popcorn to deluxe signature plates at very special rates.

Food stations, featuring the culinary delights of O`ahu’s diverse restaurants, include Davey Jones Ribs, Lobster & Crab House, Willow’s, Ocean Steak House, Pizza Hut, Skyline Café, Royal Hawaiian Hot Dog, Popcorn Express and Beach House Cart.

The highlight of each evening is a classic movie. To commemorate the Korean Centennial Festival on Saturday at Kapiolani Park, Sunset on the Beach will show a special film, “I Wish I Had A Wife,” a Korean feature film with English subtitles. The moviee will be followed by Superman. On Sunday, January 13, Sunset will show Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Projected on a 30-foot screen with Diamond Head in the background, the popular movies are shown at sunset (6:15 p.m.).

Mayor Mayor Jeremy Harris, the City and County of Honolulu, Waikiki Improvement Association, Hawaii Restaurant Association, 2003 Centennial Committee of Korea Immigration to the United States, News 8-NBC Hawaii and K5-The Home Team, and KORL are proud sponsors of Sunset on the Beach.

There’s lots of parking at the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Shell.
