Surf Forecast 60

Three young men who took part last year in the beating of a professional surfer, who hit his head and died four days later, pleaded guilty Friday to involuntary manslaughter, while a fourth defendant admitted playing an accessory role.

The prosecution alleges Cravens sucker-punched Emery Kauanui in the chin when he got up, knocking him out and causing him to fall back and hit his head on the pavement.

Kauanui was placed on life-support and died four days later at a hospital from brain injuries.
