Please come out to show your support for the SHS Surf Team. These students will be representing all of Central Florida so please show your support for these awesome young high school surfers. There will be showing a great surf movie and some raffles to raise money for the trip. Come out and relax in your lawn chair and have a killer burrito and an ice cold beverage. Don't miss it - Saturday, May 30th, 6pm-9:30. Your cash donation would be greatly appreciated. We are leaving on June 2nd and time is ticking...
There is also a carwash on Sunday the 31st from 10-2pm at Long Doggers in Satellite beach. Car wash tickets can be purchased at movie night for $5.00
Plant Sale May 9th at Delaura Middle School
As you may know, Dave Floyd and other Delaura supporters have been busy landscaping Delaura Middle School. To date, we were able to get a grant for $2000 from Keep Brevard Beautiful (KBB) which resulted in over 300 primarily native plants added to once barren areas. Another grant from the Central Florida Palm and Cycad Society (CFPACS) will add $500 worth of unique palms to provide much needed shade and a vertical dimension to the landscape. To showcase these accomplishments and raise additional funds for materials not covered under the grants, we are putting on a plant sale and community garage sale at DMS on Saturday May 9th from 9-3PM. This event will feature a large selection of very reasonable priced plants and tikis just in time for Mother's Day. We already have 7 vendors signed up to sell a variety of Palms, Bromeliads, Crotons, Fruit trees, and a large group of flowering plants (Plumerias, Desert Rose, Heleconias, Gingers, etc). A portion of the sale of these items will be donated to the DMS DPO and you will be supporting local backyard growers as well.
