Surf Forecast 86

Surf forecasting is a branch of marine meteorology, developed and honed by the US Navy during the planning and execution of World War II beach landing operations. Since then, the science has evolved into the employment of sophisticated wave modelling, greatly assisting the marine forecaster's decision making process. NOAA's free distribution of Wavewatch3 products are used by surfers daily around the globe desiring a general look into the surf picture ahead. Multitudes of surf web sites report surf conditions, and interpret government and university swell products to the masses trying to locate the best surf on a given day.
