Ocean Lakes Family Campground Credits Activities on Site a Family Value for Summer and Fall Vacations in Myrtle Beach, SC

Ocean Lakes Family Campground, a subsidiary of The Jackson Companies, finds reservation projections are up for the 2009 summer and fall seasons. Park operators believe that many on site activities and amenities along with strong customer service are contributing to families' vacation decisions.

Ocean Lakes features nearly one mile of oceanfront campsites, beach houses and activities including basketball, volleyball, playgrounds, horseshoes, SDU Skate Park and Surf Camp.

We have nearly a mile of oceanfront that all our guests can enjoy - for free

"We had an excellent Memorial Day crowd," comments Lance Thompson, Vice President/General Manager of Ocean Lakes Family Campground. "Our 893 campsites were 98% occupied for the weekend. We feel very fortunate and are working hard to create a great destination." The 38-year-old campground experienced an all time record year in 2007 and are pleased with 2009 reservation projections up 6% over 2007 and site nights reserved are up 12% over the record year.

"We are cautiously optimistic," explains Barb Krumm, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. "We have a strong summer schedule planned for guests of all ages, through fall with events like our Bluegrass Weekend with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage. With many free activities and great amenities, we hope a family from parents to grandparents can stay within budget, relax and just have fun." Ocean Lakes offers a Concierge Service through its Recreation Office to assist guests with booking tickets to many area attractions, shows and amusements at a discount. "We have nearly a mile of oceanfront that all our guests can enjoy - for free," Krumm smiles.
