!!!Another sailfish .... First on the El Cazador!!! The winds were onshore yesterday afternoon so I took Mike and John for a little afternoon fishing. It started out pretty slow, catching a few doodoos and then a nice-sized sailfish came into the spread, trailling the long line. After 3 whacks at it, I dropped the drag to free spool and he finally inhaled it. After a few secs, I pressed the drag to the button and with 3 turns of the crank the hook was set ... the fight was on. Mike had the sailfish, a 100-lber, boat-side in about 30 min with a little coaching from me and some good driving from Kelly. We revived it in about 30 minutes and cracked a fresh cold beer as it swam away into the sunset. This is what dreams are made of... Mike caught his first fish ever, a 10 lb dorado, the day before with Tony. Props to Mike and Los Cazadores at The Surf Sanctuary. Ready to rock it at the tournament in San Juan Del Sur the 25th and 26th!
Oh yeah ... and the waves are chest to head-high today. See ya. Wayne
