About the Aluminium Can Recycling Campaign

The Aluminium Can Recycling Campaign, now in its sixth year, aims to encourage Australians to consider the positive environmental benefits of recycling.
Recycling a single aluminium can saves enough energy to run a TV for 3 hours and making items from recycled aluminium uses 95% less energy then making them from scratch. Recycling also diverts items from landfill and reduces litter.
Australia has a high rate of aluminium can recycling, however, around one in three cans is not recycled.
This campaign aims to increase the number of cans being recycled.
