Conditions light and variable winds through the morning with W winds around 10-14 knots through the afternoon.
Saturday SW swell continues to peak and mix with some minimal NW windswell. Most SW facing spots see consistent chest-shoulder high surf while standout breaks see head high sets. Chance for some bigger waves through the lower tides. Conditions light and variable winds through the morning with W winds around 10-14 knots through the afternoon.
Long Range
North Pacific: Still not a lot going on in the NPAC...which isn’t all that surprising considering that we are going into summer. At this point there is no significant swell coming from this region. We will continue to see some minor on-and-off local WNW-NW windswell as winds pulse up in the outer waters. Look for some waist high WNW windswell to build in through the middle of the week and then drop off slowly towards the weekend.
South Pacific: Now that the SPAC has gotten restarted (Compared to late-May/early June) it has been doing a decent job throwing together some storms inside our swell window. There hasn’t been anything super strong but we have had a pretty consistent area of fetch SE of New Zealand that will have some summer SW swell heading our way for the next several days. We will have a new SW swell (190-210) arriving on Thursday June 11th and peaking Friday and Saturday June 12-13th with surf in the chest-shoulder high range for many spots and some inconsistent head high sets at the standouts. Even further out we have a mix of S swell and SW swell from a couple of different storms that will be hitting exposed areas around the 15th and then peaking the 16-17th. This swell mix has started to look pretty good from a forecast standpoint...look for more shoulder-head high surf at the better exposed spots and some overhead surf at the standouts from this new mix.
Tropics: The little tropical disturbance never had a chance to get going...forecasts are not looking for this system to develop much for the next few days. No tropical systems expected at this time.
