Surf Girls 89

The 2009 Conrad Jupiters Summer Surf Girl program has drawn to a close, with Tammy Humphreys from Bundaberg taking out the top honour.

In her role as the 2009 Conrad Jupiters Summer Surf Girl, Tammy will act as an ambassador for Surf Life Saving Queensland.

Lydia Allen, from Dicky Beach, was named the 2009 Conrad Jupiters Fundraising winner and also received the Award for Innovation, after raising a record amount of $118,356.34 for her club.

Mitch Allsopp, from Marcoola, rounded out the winners’ list, being named the Conrad Jupiters Summer Surf Girl Runner-Up. She was the first entrant for her club in eight years.

The Conrad Jupiters Summer Surf Girl program is one of SLSQ’s biggest annual club-based fundraisers and this year the entrants collectively raised $703,633.92 for their surf clubs. These funds go directly back to each entrant’s club to assist in the delivery of their lifesaving services, and cover costs such as upgrading and maintaining existing equipment and the training of new and existing members.

The Summer Surf Girl initiative has raised more than $10 million for surf clubs across Queensland since it started in 1964.
