Surf Line 60

01.21.09 The new Pipeline book by Surfline.

It’s another one of those “too big for everywhere except 12 foot windblown Waimea” days, so I’m going to show you a handful of the images which I had in the new book about Pipeline. Surfline recently published a large coffee table book, simply called “The Pipeline”. It’s an amazing 200 page package that covers everything Pipeline. Quite a large number of my images made it into the book. Here are just 11 of them. enjoy.

Having met Sean during the Mostra Festival in Brazil in 2007, (I’m in his “Rio jam” video) I was quite pleased when his photos arrived for consideration in The Pipeline book, which I published under contract with Surfline’s sister company, Airborne Media. Sean has an eye for capturing more that just the peak action moments; he studies his subjects and carefully – and cleverly – finds angles and lighting that enhance the viewers understanding and appreciation of the subject. In this case, his photographs as published in The Pipeline add breadth, character and charm to the story about what many consider the best wave in the world.
