Surf Line 79

As you know, we all have a myriad of issues before us that concern not
only the tow surfing community, but also surfers at large. We all support
the community and the environment. We also support the appropriate
steps that need to be taken to insure that our children will enjoy the same
benefits and have the same access that we all have enjoyed. There needs
to be a rational approach to preserving these qualities for everyone.

We also need to educate and train towsurfers to abide by the agreed
standards and policies of the community. To accomplish this we need to
have an organization to manage the interests of towsurfing community,
otherwise the future of towsurfing is guaranteed to be doomed. Whether
towsurfers unite within the APT or by launching a new organization, there
is a dire need for a specific organization, which is surf industry neutral.

After our conversations, I have a greater understanding and appreciate
your work and efforts with the APT. I also respect your willingness to
allow this organization to grow independently, and to be managed as a
separate entity by selected representatives and yourself, to fulfill the
needs of the towsurfing community. Therefore I feel confident in
encouraging towsurfers to join the APT as soon as possible, so we can
use this organization as the united voice for the towsurfing community to
deal with the immediate issues we have at hand.

Please feel free to use this letter to express my thoughts on this issue,
and please let me know if Surfline can be of any benefit to help us all to
achieve our goals.
