Maui Surf 1
The surf along our north and northwest facing shores will continue to fade today, offering our better breaks with surf in the 2-4 foot range, potentially still a little higher at the best exposed locations. Upper West shores probably won't see much of this swell around 0-3 foot. The long-period south swell will continue at moderate levels today around 2-4 foot but select areas may continue to see infrequent sets near head-high levels if you know where and when to paddle out. Several more similar swells are expected through the forecast period, the next arriving overnight Sunday or Monday and another slightly larger is likely to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. The second swell should require an advisory, so keep your fingers crossed. The long-absent windswell is trying to build but shouldn't come in more than 1-3 foot along our east facing shores. The increasing tradewinds should be able to produce a rising windswell over the next several days and into the upcoming week. Another weak and tiny northwest swell is possible around Monday or Tuesday but it won't amount to much. Additional activity southeast and south of New Zealand should keep a nice supply of small to moderate south swells arriving for quite some time, but nothing significant is anticipated yet. As always, pray for surf...
